Time does move quickly…only nine more gong-ringings in the 2013-14 Rotary year, plus the Silver Anniversary…if I’m allowed to do so. But I’ll get to induct at least one more new member and enjoy a Paul Harris Fellow award presentation on May 16. And I’ll get to keep imploring all to make sure we’re a 100% Giving Club to the Rotary Foundation. If you are unsure about whether or not you’ve contributed this year, please contact any of the officers and we’ll look it up for you. Thanks to those who have contributed recently as we move toward the 100% goal.
- This Saturday May 10 – we need many hands to spread mulch at Wyatt Guest House. Mike Hemme asks all to be there around 8 am, with rakes and pitchforks. See you there & then! This was our District Simplified Grant project, and the landscaping and bed restoration is greatly appreciated by families of cancer patients who stay there.
- Be on the roof of The Broadway Hotel on Thursday, May 22 – thanks to Betsy Farris for inviting us to this invitation-only event that features FREE beer, wine & food, and a preview of the Roots & Blues Festival, which Betsy organizes and runs. Please advise Betsy by Friday if you’re planning to attend – Terry and I will be there for sure. Thanks again for including your fellow South Rotarians, Betsy!
- Rotary South Silver Anniversary on June 19 (Thursday) – details will be forthcoming soon from Glen Ehrhardtm Dave Machens & Bridgid Kinney. SAVE THIS DATE FOR SURE! Some charter members and past presidents will be returning to Columbia for this celebration, which will make it extra fun!
- Rotarian of The Year nominations are needed – please contact Chris Rigby for details.
