Greetings from the road again! With the Memorial Day Holiday approaching, that means Bill Boston has arranged his annual good program that is focused on the Air Show and/or military flying. Thanks, Bill.

Otherwise:
  • Congratulations again to Dave Machens for service above self for so many years, and for being saluted yesterday by the Food Bank. We and the rest of Columbia have been made better by your presence and  various commitments. Did anyone bring a pitchfork to the event, as Dave feared?
  • If you didn’t take a pitchfork to the Food Bank, please plan to do so at Rock Bridge High School a week from Saturday on May 31 @ 9 am. This will be our last Community Service project of the 2013-14 Rotary year so let’s make it a huge success. We will be spreading more mulch in planting beds there and need pitchforks, wheelbarrows and grass rakes (not leaf rakes). More details forthcoming from Robin Calfee.
  • Remember June 19 for the club’s Silver Anniversary celebration. More details will be forthcoming from Bridgid, who passed around a sign-up list last week. Lots of names on the first pass, and we hope more will sign up (and pay!) this week.
  • Not to be forgotten is the Rotary South Golf social on June 20, the morning after our anniversary gala. The Four-Way Test should be remembered when listing handicaps on the sign-up list! Watch for the list to be circulated again this week. Thanks to Roger Birdsong, Max Dills, Ken Nivens, Mike Happ and others who have been conspiring at their table on recent Fridays.
Finally, thanks to those who are continuing to contribute to the Rotary Foundation. Any amount helps the cause and is appreciated. So, please cross Bill Kollars’ palm with a check as we continue our drive to be a 100% participant in Rotary Foundation giving, and thanks again!
Cheers & see you Friday.
