Rotary South Members,
This past week was a very special week – not only was it my first in-person meeting serving as our Club President, but it was also a week of celebration. A week to celebrate those of us that renewed our membership to continue serving as Rotarians of Columbia South – as well the achievements of Raymond Plue. Raymond was presented 1 of 44 Distinguished Service Awards by the Rotary Foundation Trustees this year internationally. Special thanks to those that participated in the celebration: Susan Hart, Past DG Jacque Howard, and Past DG/Columbia South member Steve Dulle.
This week has started off with another recognition. On Monday, nine different Columbia Rotarians were on hand to recognize Mel West with his Columbia South Rotary Honorary Rotarian recognition – as well as a “Lifetime of Service” award. In typical Mel fashion, he touched all of us with his words stating, “If I had one last wish on this earth, it would be that every person could learn and discover the joy of helping others.”
Lastly, for those unable to attend Friday meetings regularly or those of us who simply cannot get enough of our Rotary family – please consider swinging by for lunch at YourPie pizza Tuesdays from 11:45-12:45. Hope to see you there!
